The Centre for Performing Arts is envisioned as a spatial journey shaped by the idea of axis, procession, and revelation. Inspired by the timeless narrative sequence of the Taj Mahal, the project unfolds along a carefully composed central axis where each court acts as a threshold to the next experience. Much like the ceremonial progression of Mughal landscapes, the movement through the campus is designed as a story, where every space reveals a new layer of activity, anticipation, and engagement.

The experience begins at the first court, which opens into the library and shopping complex. This zone serves as the public face of the institution, inviting visitors into a vibrant cultural environment where knowledge, interaction, and everyday activity come together. Proceeding further along the axis, the second court unfolds into the amphitheatre and café. This intermediate space acts as a social and performative pause within the journey, encouraging gathering, conversation, and informal performances. The open-air setting creates an atmosphere of exchange and community, bridging the public realm with the more focused performance spaces beyond.

The narrative culminates in the final court, where the axis resolves into the main auditorium. This moment of arrival is conceived as the climax of the spatial sequence, where the built form is fully revealed after a measured procession through the preceding courts. The auditorium stands as the symbolic and functional heart of the campus, anchoring the entire composition.

The project celebrates architecture as choreography, where movement through space becomes an experience of unfolding scenes, each court revealing not just a building, but a distinct cultural activity and atmosphere
