Landscape of the Library Precinct

Adhering to the proposed landscape strategy, the landscape for the library responds to the library building in addition to incorporating the wild character of the existing landscape on campus. The design is envisioned to create an assembly of gardens that create a generous number of outdoor spaces for informal activities and are classified as follows,

  1. Garden for contemplation – A quiet transitional space meant for reading
  2. Garden for comprehension – A social space for outdoor gathering and library events
  3. Garden for conversation – A public plaza for discussion and dialogue.
  4. Confluence Boulevard –  An avenue of large trees at the junction of the academic block and the library precinct.
  5. Garden café –  A café designed as a pavilion placed in the assembly of gardens around the library
